Designer Spotlight: Vivienne Westwood GOLD Label

Alright, Seriously. I cannot remember the last time I saw a full collection that has taunted me as badly as this one. This is just hurtful! Quick background on our reigning Punk Queen, Vivienne Westwood...

Born in Tinwhistle, England in 1941, Vivienne went to Harrow Art School and then became a teacher... She earned her living teaching for some time until she met Malcom Mclaren (the man behind The Sex Pistols). In 1971, the duo started making drastic changes in British Fashion with punk clothing they sold in various shops all around London. Then in 1975, they opened their very own store, Seditionaries, the first real punk clothing shop ever in London!

In 1983, Mclaren and Westwood parted ways in a painful and dramatic way. To this day, it is known that he was overbearing and controlling over her... and from what it looks like... and you can even tell through her pieces... this woman cannot be controlled by anyone!!! She dropped off for two years to recuperate and came back with her fall collection in 1985 that centered around a bubble shaped hoop skirt that just destroyed everyone! It was first picked up by Jean Paul Gaultier and then by pretty much by every single designer in NYC and Europe.

To this day, Westwood continues her claim to fame as the originator of punk fashion. Below are some pieces from her GOLD label. Granted, each piece is over $1000 bucks, sob... but I can dream! So there is my epistle on Vivienne Westwood. I am gonna go close all the blinds in my bedroom, climb into bed, and cry to myself now!

Kill me now.

Look at the back buckles! Agh!

Omg. This is a big diaper satchel. I can't take them.

Ahh-mazing.

LIVE for the tailoring on this blazer.

Such a timeless piece.

Kind of 80's/MC Hammer, but I can't help but sort of love how fun it is!

A great throw on.

Soooo comfy looking!

I didn't love this at first glance, but if you look at the detail... I love the "knubby" material.

And it has tails! Love the tails...
